Prepare the Website sources Ask can use.

Choose accurate published Website information, inspect its indexing state, and test the source before visitors rely on an answer.

Setup steps

  1. Choose public information

Gather the service, offer, contact, and process details visitors actually ask about. Remove stale facts in their relevant Website tool first.

  2. Inspect source status

Review the selected source title, public URL, extracted text, update time, and indexing state in the Website dashboard Ask area.

  3. Test the retrieval

Ask a question about the source and check whether the returned evidence contains the detail a visitor needs.

Example result

The result
Configured, supported sources are available to Ask after the relevant indexing or sync.
What to check
Test a known question and inspect the retrieved information before relying on it.

Adapt the example to your Website and review the result before moving to the next task.

Select sources that are ready to expose

Ask uses the Website sources selected for the Website. Pages, CMS entries, and eligible App-backed records must be accurate, public where required, and supported by the current setup.

Keep ownership with the source

Update service details in the Page, CMS, Store, Bookings, or Forms owner that manages them. Ask indexes selected information; it does not make private drafts public.

Before you continue

Ask does not read arbitrary private drafts, scrape arbitrary CSS, or guarantee that every Website Plan, App source, or model includes indexing.
