Preview and publish a Website Page.

Check the saved Page, visitor path, and responsive result before using the separate publishing action.

Follow the steps.

Use your own accurate details and check the result as you go. You can return to the relevant Website editor to make corrections.

  1. Open the saved Page

Confirm the Page name, content, selected media, links, and current draft or published state.

  2. Test the visitor path

Read the Page at desktop and mobile widths, follow the primary link, and submit a test Form when one is present.

  3. Use the publishing control

Publish only after the result and its owning workflows have been reviewed, then open the public address to check it.

Illustrative example

What a useful result looks like

The result
The reviewed version appears at the Page’s public address after publication.
What to check
Open the public address separately and check the new copy, navigation and Form.

Adapt the example to your Website and review the result before moving to the next task.

Review what visitors will actually use

Check heading order, mobile reading order, image crops, navigation, Form labels, success text, and links together.

Keep publication separate

Saving a Page preserves work in the builder. Publishing changes the public result according to the Page's current publication state.

Before you continue

Page publication does not activate a Form, make a CMS entry public, connect a customer-owned domain, or confirm an external transaction.

Make the next change with a clear result in mind.
