Create your first Website Form
Choose a useful starting point, check its fields, and activate the Form when its response and validation states are ready.
Follow the steps.
Use your own accurate details and check the result as you go. You can return to the relevant Website editor to make corrections.
Choose a starting point
Open Forms in the Website dashboard. Start with Blank, Contact, Lead capture, Feedback, or Booking request, then give the Form a clear name and address.
Check every field
Open the Form Builder. Confirm each field's label, type, required state, help text, and validation. Remove questions that do not help you handle the submission.
Set the submit result
Keep a submit button in the Form and write the success message visitors should see. Configure supported notifications, visitor confirmation, or a safe redirect only when the workflow needs them.
Activate and test
Activate the Form, complete a test submission, and review the saved response. Form activation does not publish a Page that contains the Form.
Illustrative exampleWhat a useful result looks like
- The result
- A saved Form with the questions you need for a first reply.
- What to check
- Try an incomplete answer, then a complete submission from its published Page and find the saved response.
Adapt the example to your Website and review the result before moving to the next task.
Choose the smallest Form that supports the first reply
A Contact Form starts with name, email, message, and consent. Lead capture can begin with email and source tracking. Feedback and booking-request starts use different fields because they support different conversations.
Treat the starting option as editable structure. Check the fields against the reply or decision your team needs to make after the submission arrives.
- Use a recognizable Form name.
- Keep the Form address short and specific.
- Require only information needed before the first response.
Test the stored response before relying on the Form
Submit realistic values and confirm that the selected Form shows the response in its Submissions view. Check the submitted time, source, field values, and workflow status.
If you configure team notifications, a visitor confirmation, or a redirect, test that exact setup. Saving those settings is not proof that an external message was delivered.
Before you continue
A Form collects a submission. Payment, appointment confirmation, and Page publication remain separate workflows.
